Silver Nitrate is typically used on porous materials such as paper or after Ninhydrin processing to produce a dark brown color. Silver Nitrate reacts to the chlorides present in latent prints. Silver Nitrate may be applied by either spraying or dipping. After the evidence has dried it should be exposed to intense light to accelerate the development. Any latent fingerprints that develop should be photographed immediately. Provided as an 8 oz. premix.
